Wright Medical Technologies, a successful medical device company with rapid growth, looked to Blue River to design and develop intranet solutions that would help them:

Finding People

One of the major intranet issues today is the inability to locate people and find accurate contact information within the organization. Blue River developed a "People Finder" directory search application that integrated directly with Wright Medical's Active Directory system, which includes a searchable interface that allows employees to search for staff based on location, role and keyword. Employees have the ability to log in and update their contact information via the intranet interface; contact information is synched nightly.

Removing Departmental Silos

It is typical for intranets to become siloed–where information is generated by certain departments, but not shared across the organization. Often times, this results in duplicate information. It can also be taxing on the end user when they are tasked with finding information.

Through a rigorous content discovery and information architecture phase, Blue River developed a site structure that would allow departments to:

Improving Efficiencies Through Integration

Blue River worked closely with Wright Medical to develop an integration between two key systems that were tied to their product development lifecycle. These integrations allowed team members to find and review critical documentation associated with their daily tasks via the intranet, which reduces time spent logging in and out of several systems multiple times per day to download documentation.

Standardizing On a Single Platform

By leveraging Mura CMS as the platform, Wright is able to manage intranet content, updates and system training on one easy-to-use interface. The Mura CMS plugin architecture allowed Blue River to quickly develop various custom application solutions and train development teams on in-house intranet application maintenance.
